Web-To-Case Forms

Introduction

In this video, we’ll discuss how to create a Salesforce Web-to-Case form. If you’d like to create a Web-to-Lead form instead, the steps are nearly identical but I have a separate post/video available here!

You can see (and test!) the form I created here.

All in all, the process is very simple –

  1. Review settings and email templates
  2. Generate form code
  3. Embed on your website (and style the form, if necessary)
  4. Test return URL, case creation and email functionality.

My Form

Here’s the code I embedded on the “Inquiries” page linked above.

<meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">

<form action="https://webto.salesforce.com/servlet/servlet.WebToCase?encoding=UTF-8" method="POST">
    <input type="hidden" name="orgid" value="00D1I0000003BjB" />
    <input type="hidden" name="retURL" value="https://sfdc.guide/thank-you" />

    <label for="email">Email</label>
    <input id="email" maxlength="80" name="email" size="20" type="text" />

    <label for="phone">Phone</label>
    <input id="phone" maxlength="40" name="phone" size="20" type="text" />

    <label for="subject">Subject</label>
    <input id="subject" maxlength="80" name="subject" size="20" type="text" />

    <label for="description">Description</label>
    <textarea name="description"></textarea>

    <input type="submit" name="submit" />

</form>

Hope this was helpful – thanks for watching!
